Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) often referred to by her stage name Ari Lennox is an American music producer and performer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. On October 21, 2016 she dropped Pho, her debut EP for the label Dreamville Records. This was when she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her debut tracks online in 2012. She dropped five singles in 2013 and Five Finger Discount in 2013 and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, she released further music online including Bound. Her music was also featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes which was released from Sweat It Out, on the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's music references. Then, later in the season, the music circulated throughout Dreamville. She officially was signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. On the Album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat, along with Cozz. On October 21 2016 she released her debut EP entitled Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song. She also performed at the opening of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she opted to be a guest on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. A music video followed by a music video in September. Her second single for Grampa on November 9. Then, on November 13 she dropped two more singles, titled the No One or Pdigree. They then collaborated in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on February 26, 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same title. In February of 2019 she released a music video released for the song. It has already received nearly three million views on YouTube in its first week. In December of 2018, she was part of the From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
